As an employee, you will be offered a Pension Check-up by your employer because you are about to retire. This is a personal consultation with a pension expert where you will look at your financial future together.

The purpose? Give you insight into your pension, the choices you need to make before your retirement date, and help you make these choices with more confidence.

What can you expect from the Pension check-up Near To retirement?

The Pension check-up Near to Retirement usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes. In this consultation, you and the pension expert will look at:

Your current situation

  • The pension scheme at your organisation.
  • Your current pension accrual and what this means for your income during your retirement.
  • The choices you can make now to make your pension fit your wishes better.

Wishes and objectives

  • Your personal online environment mijn.nn Inkomen Later: you can see where you can find your data and how you can view your situation, how you can communicate your choices and how you determine your risk profile.
  • How to add your pension data for a comprehensive financial picture, for example via MijnPensioenOverzicht.nl or the Finch app, with which you can view all your financial data safely in one place.
  • What do you think about continuing to invest after your pension comes into payment (variable pension?).

Making choices

  • How pensions and investments work. What best suits your preferences and how can you make changes?
  • Do you wish to continue investing part of your pension after your retirement? this is a good time to (re)determine your risk profile.
  • Do you wish your pension to come into payment on your retirement date, or would you prefer to postpone it (or bring it forward)?
  • Any additional pension insurance for your partner
  • Are the choices you made earlier still relevant?
  • Do you want a slightly higher pension first and a slightly lower pension later, or the other way around?

How should you prepare?

You do not need to prepare for the consultation. However, for a smooth consultation, it is useful to do a few things:

How does an online consultation work?

  1. Make an appointment for a Pension Check-up
  2. Depending on the pension expert, you will either receive an invitation in your confirmation email with a personal link to the meeting or in a separate email no later than one day before the appointment. The Pension Check-up can take place via Teams or other video software, depending on the adviser’s preference.
  3. At the time of the appointment, click the link (or copy it into a recommended browser).
  4. Start your Pension check-up

System requirements
