Preparation
No, no advice will be given during the consultation. The APK Pension check-up provides information only. The pension expert will explain your pension scheme and the choices you can make, based on your personal online environment: mijn.nn Inkomen Later (log on via nn.nl).
No, that is not possible. So it is important to note any questions in advance and to share them with the pension expert at the start of the consultation.
This depends on the type of consultation to which you have been invited.

Newly employed
15 years before pension
Almost retired
The pension expert may give you a summary of the consultation. You can ask them for this at the outset. You can also choose to record the conversation so that you can review it later. It is also best to discuss this with the pension expert in advance.
First, log on to your personal online environment mijn.nn Inkomen Later. You can then write down the questions you have about your pension. It is also useful to log on to MijnPensioenoverzicht.nl in advance. You can easily log on to this government website with your DigiD. Here you can see all your pensions in an easy-to-understand format. You can download and save your pension statement there.

Practical matters
APK Pension check-ups are offered at three points in your career. These are:
• Start check-up: you are newly employed. You will be invited by the pension expert 3 months after you employment starts.
• 15 years before retirement Pension check-up: you will reach your retirement date in about 15 years’ time
• Near retirement Pension check-up: you will reach your retirement date in about three years.
It is therefore quite possible that your colleague has reached one of these three moments while you have not (or not yet). This is why you have not yet been invited to an APK Pension check-up.
Your employer will offer the consultations and indicate whether this is possible.
Ask the pension expert about this or look in the planning tool to check availability.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
You can easily make, change or manage your appointment via mijn.nn Inkomen Later (under ‘My actions’).
Go to mijn.nn Inkomen Later and click on the action Schedule APK Pension check-up. Then follow the steps. If this is not successful, contact Nationale-Nederlanden customer service.
No, unfortunately this is not possible. You can make/change/cancel the appointment via mijn.nn Inkomen Later. The pension expert can also offer you more insight into your pension situation in the online pension environment.
You can have your partner and/or your children attend the APK Pension check-up.
Privacy
Your personal data will never be stored - some data will be anonymised to improve the service provision and to report to the employer who provides this service to you as an employee.
Furthermore, your data will be treated confidentially and Nationale-Nederlanden will take care of the necessary security measures to guarantee your privacy in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. It is important to consult our privacy policy to find out more about how Nationale-Nederlanden handles your specific data.
For the pension expert to prepare properly, they need access to your details in mijn.nn Inkomen Later. If you have given permission for this, you can always terminate the sharing of your pension data. If you terminate your consent, your details on my.nn Inkomen Later will no longer be available to the pension expert. This will make it harder for them to prepare for the APK Pension check-up. If you do not withdraw the consent yourself, it will automatically stop after 90 days.
Your employer cannot view your personal information, including, for example, the results of the evaluation you completed after the APK Pension check-up. Your employer can however see general information about the conversations, such as the total number of people that have activated their mijn.nn account. This takes account of privacy legislation so that information cannot be traced back to a single employee.

During the consultation, you will log in to your own online environment my.nn Inkomen Later. You may be asked to share your screen with the pension expert. For readability and ease of use, we recommend that you use a laptop or desktop instead of your phone.
The consultation is conducted in Teams. If you don’t have a Teams account, someone can invite you to a Teams meeting or chat by using your email address. You will receive an email with a link so you can participate via your web browser. You do not need to download an app of this on your computer in advance.
Take the following steps to start the conversation:
1. Launch your Internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Microsoft Edge)
2. Open the link from the confirmation email of your appointment in your browser

The pension expert also needs to be able to share visual information, such as showing the screen with mijn.nn Inkomen Later for example. 1. During the Teams meeting, search for the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Click on the “share icon” (square with an up arrow) in the menu bar.
3. Choose what you wish to share: "Full screen", "Specific window" or "Powerpoint presentation".
4. Select the desired screen or window and click "Share" to share it.
