Frequently asked questions Cost and Value Statement
What is the Cost and Value Statement and why am I receiving it?
The Cost and Value Statement is a document about your pension. You receive it from us every year. This statement shows how much money has been paid into your pension, which costs have been deducted, and the value of your investments. We send this statement so you can see how the value of your investments is developing and what it costs.
What does the value of my investments mean?
The value of your pension is the amount that has currently been built up for you. This amount can change because your pension is invested, costs are deducted, and new contributions may be paid in. Are the investments performing well? Then your pension may increase in value. Are they performing less well? Then the value may also decrease.
Which costs do I see in the statement and what are they for?
The statement shows how many costs have been charged. These include, for example, costs for managing your investments, known as management fees.
Why do I pay costs for my pension?
You pay costs because your pension does not build up automatically. We take care of investing your pension, keeping your details up to date, and informing you about your pension. We incur costs for this.
Does this statement show how much pension I will receive later?
No, this statement does not show that. The Cost and Value Statement mainly shows what has been paid in, what the current value is, and which costs have been charged. Would you like to know how much pension you may receive later? Log in to mijn.nn, check your Uniform Pension Statement (UPO), or visit Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.
What is the difference between this statement and the UPO?
The Cost and Value Statement shows what has been paid in, what the value is, and which costs you pay. The UPO shows approximately how much pension you may receive later. Together, these documents give you a complete picture of your pension.
How often will I receive the Cost and Value Statement?
You receive this statement from us once a year. This allows you to see each year how your pension is developing.
I see that the value has changed. Should I be worried?
Not necessarily. The value of your investments can fluctuate. This is normal when investing. In the long term, the value of your investments is expected to grow, but there may also be decreases along the way. You can find more information about investing for your pension on the page Investing for a higher pension.
Where can I get a better overview of my pension?
For insights into your pension, it is best to log in to mijn.nn. You can do this easily with your DigiD. Would you like a complete picture of your pension? You can also check your Uniform Pension Statement (UPO) and Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl. There you will see an estimate of your pension later.
