Uniform Pension Statement 2009

Introduction
Since 2008, every pension provider in the Netherlands is legally obliged to provide annual pension statements to all active members in their pension schemes. These statements are of a uniform nature. This allows members to add the amounts accrued in different pension schemes and get an overview of their total future pension benefits.

Unfortunately, due to legal and technical reasons we cannot provide you with a statement in English. Therefore, this website provides you with useful information, answers to frequently asked questions and a list of commonly used Dutch pension terminology translated into English.

Important information about the Uniform Pension Statement (UPO)

The Uniform Pension Statement shows the amounts which you will receive upon retirement and occupational disability. It also shows the amounts your partner and children, if applicable, will receive upon your death.

Because of the uniform nature of this document a variety of pension categories are shown on the UPO. If your company pension scheme does not cover a certain pension category, the amount accrued will be shown as zero. This means that this particular form of pension is not covered. If you think you are missing a type of coverage, check the policy number to see if it corresponds with the number on the UPO. It might be covered under a different policy.

Nationale-Nederlanden will provide one statement per policy. In case a member has multiple policies, we will send one statement for each policy. We will try to send these statements together in one envelope. In some cases however a member might receive multiple envelopes. Nationale-Nederlanden will send the UPOs from the middle of August until the end of September 2009.
